We have a number of different account types, each relating to how you’re billed, how you can pay, and the options available to manage your account. This article explains the main account types and provides a brief overview of Repayment Plans for customers with outstanding balances.
The type of account you have is usually determined by the billing and metering arrangements for your development. Account types are not generally chosen by individual customers, as they are linked to the technical setup of the site.
Pay As You Go (PAYG)
- Documents are generated at the beginning of each month and sent via Email or Post. The document will show a statement of charges and top-up payments for the previous month.
- If the meter installed in your home is a prepayment/PAYG meter, your meter will deduct the credit for your standing and usage charges as you go.
- You will need to make top-up payments to keep your account in credit. If your balance drops below £0.00 (or the agreed Emergency Credit limit), you will self-disconnect and must top up your balance to more than £2.00 to restore your supply.
Post Pay Billing
- Bills are generated at the beginning of each month and sent via Email or Post.
- If you have a Monthly Regular Payment set up, then the full amount of the bill will be taken every month.
- If you do not have a Monthly Payment set up, then a payment will need to be made using a debit or credit card online or over the phone to keep your account in good standing.
Credit Billing
- Bills are generated at the beginning of each month and sent via Email or Post.
- If you have a Monthly Payment set up then the set fixed amount will be taken every month.
- If you do not have a Monthly Payment set up then a payment will need to be made using a debit or credit card online or over the phone. Top-up payments can be made online or over the phone if required
